About Our Instructors

Director/Owner, Noelle Wood began practicing Pilates in 1999 to rehabilitate a dance injury. She received her certification from Master Trainers, Carla Hales of Inhales Techniques, Almaden Valley Athletic Club, San Jose, CA and Nora St. John of Turnining Point Studios and is an active member of the Pilates Method Alliance. She has worked with rehabilitation, injured, pre- and post-natal clients, as well as dancers, skaters, gymnasts and other athletes. Noelle studied ballet and various dance forms at the University of California, Irvine and is now exploring the Circus Arts, Argentine Tango, and kayaking. She continues to study under various master trainers and offers a full certification program at her studio. Noelle hopes to inspire others to explore the beauty of movement and help clients create an active, balanced lifestyle.

Tracy Byars studied multiple forms of dance from childhood through her teens, but her plans to become a dancer were cut short by a skiing accident that caused chronic lower back pain. This chronic pain was what led her (more than 30 years later!) to begin practicing Pilates in 2004. Like many others, she quickly became addicted and began certification training in the summer of 2006. Tracy recently earned a Masters in Transpersonal (aka “spiritual”) Psychology and through Pilates, would like to help people increase their body awareness and improve their mental/emotional well-being. In addition to Pilates, she enjoys an active lifestyle including frequent hikes and occasional skiing and horseback riding.

Tashina Fuelling has been dancing since early childhood when she performed with a national dance team. She discovered Pilates as an adjunct to her dance training in college and pursued training in the Stott method for mat in Spring of 2004. Tashina holds a B.S. degree in Kinesiology and a Masters degree in Physical therapy and currently works as a physical therapist at Stanford hospital. She has been teaching pre-natal exercise for over three years and continues to advance her knowledge of Women's health issues. Tashina continues to study numerous dance forms including jazz, salsa, hip hop and belly dance. She also enjoys cycling, hiking and gardening. She is passionate about proper movement for healthful living. Tashina hopes to empower others with knowledge about posture and body awareness for ease of movement in everyday life.

Mark Lubarsky has been teaching Pilates in the Bay Area since 2001. While seeking ways to improve his health and self-esteem, Mark found Pilates was the safest and most effective way to reduce and even prevent the damage caused by his sedentary lifestyle as a software engineer and his hobbies (chess and competitive draughts). In addition to Pilates and physical fitness, Mark has a long-lived passion for improving cognitive abilities, mental acuity and self-esteem through various forms of movement therapy and neurodevelopmental exercises. He is currently pursuing further educational goals in Kinesiology, Cognitive Psychology, and various movement therapy methods. He is a certified Pilates instructor through Master Trainer Kim Holmes at Symmetry of Movement in Mill Valley.

Olga Lubarsky has been teaching Pilates in the Bay Area since 2001. She first discovered her love of movement and dance very early in her childhood. At the age of five, Olga joined the ballet studio, and at seven she started training in competitive rhythmic gymnastics. Eye surgery six years later ended her gymnastics career, but her passion never faded. During her college years as chemistry major, she took classes in gymnastics, ballet, aerobics and ballroom dancing. She trained in Pilates since 2000, through her two pregnancies, and was able to recover quickly after the births of her sons, Jonathan and Jacob. She is a certified Pilates instructor through Master Trainer Kim Holmes at Symmetry of Movement in Mill Valley.

Raquel Villalba has completed both her mat and reformer certification training at POP and will become fully certified in Summer 2007. A mother of triplets, she began taking Pilates to help regain muscle strength and tone her body. She enjoys salsa and other forms of social dance and loves spending active playtime with her children.
